Where should I go on my honeymoon?

muriel12 asked:

I will be leaving on Sept. 14 or 15 from Louisville, KY. I want to take a two week, international vacation for less than $5,000 including air, accommodations and most of the rest. I don’t want to go to the Caribbean or Mexico–spending 2 weeks on the beach sounds far too boring. Western Europe is out as well, I’ve traveled most of Western Europe before and my fiance wants to go somewhere that is new to both of us. I want adventure travel, not deluxe travel. Anything is an option–Peru, Thailand, Morocco, Croatia, etc. Where should I go? Any links to particular trip options or vacation packages will be greatly appreciated.

Hawaii is nice. It’s an island so you feel like you’re some place tropical, and yet it’s a part of the USA so you don’t need to get a passport. I have a friend who was born in Hawaii and says it’s a beautiful place. I’ve never been, but I plan to eventually.

I’m not sure of your age, or if your budget of $5,000 includes trips for both your fiance and yourself, but I’ve used Contiki Holidays before and they are FANTASTIC. They’re geared for the age group 18-35, and try for the “fun and adventurous” vacation package.

This New Zealand package (http://contiki.com/tours/81-grand-adventurer-finish-queenstown) is 15 days and around $1500/person (without airfare, although they will help you book it if you need). You can browse their website for more trips.

I’ve never used this company, but it looked promising on the website: . The Turkish adventure tour package, includes airfare and seems to fit in your budget– as well as being fast paced and exciting!
