What is the best gift to give to someone at a bridal shower?

Hilleriffic asked:

My cousin is getting married and I have been invited to the bridal shower. I do not know his fiance that well and was wondering what would be a good gift to give. I know that they are going to Hawaii for a week for their honeymoon and was considering a gift basket with lotions, sunglasses, etc. Any other ideas?
They are not signed up with any registry. They live in the middle of nowhere and the nearest mall is over 200 miles away. The nearest Walmart is over 100.

Look at their registry, they picked a ton of things that they want on there!

Buy something off of their registry. That is why brides and grooms register.

I would suggest a nice recipe book, whether storebought or a collection of your family recipes. I think it is appropiate and something a new bride would really appreciates.

Your idea for a gift basket for their holiday is also appropiate and very thoughtful as well.

Looking at their registry is a good idea especially since you do not know the bride that well. Also, you could give her a cute tote bag that says “Bride” on it. I’m sure she would love to carry everything in that during her honeymoon in Hawaii! A Bride to Be purse is another fun idea. She can use it for her bachelorette party and on their honeymoon.

Why don’t you give her something that she can use as soon as they got married and live together. With that, you can also help her lessen their expenses.Try this site for more gift ideas,

I think a customized framed design picture would be a great gift. I have been touched when I first received it from my husband in our 4th anniversary. He used our family picture, which to made a portrait on wood puzzle. The gift really boosted my morale and touched me. It makes me recall our bittersweet moment at the beginning of our relationship. Simply you just select a best picture, think the simple warm words and artist will do the rest for you. They combine graphic design in your picture so it is completely personalized and unique which different other just print your photo on canvas directly. I am pretty appreciating their service because it is completely personalized design, not like drawing or painting. I think the gift will be the most precious possession that if she receive it.

The fact that they don’t have a gift registry does make it a little more of a challenge, but still doable!!

Something that they can keep and use after the wedding is a great idea and they will likely remember that you gave it to them if it catches their eye…

Recently a Bride-to-be contacted me and ordered a exquisitely beaded cake server and cake knife which will be used at the wedding. Of course it will take pride of place in their kitchen after the wedding and at the time I thought that it would have made for a great wedding/bridal shower gift from one of their guests.

So, perhaps you could find some silver plated salad servers, or a cake slice. Something that they may not have already and would come in handy later.

Alternatively if you know where they are going for their honeymoon, maybe you could go halves with a friend who is also attending and get a tour or special dinner pre-paid for them. At the bridal shower you can give them the voucher with the details.

    Good luck!
