Book Stand Gifts for Book Lovers
A book stand is a valuable accessory for any true book lover. Currently available types range from straight forward wire devices like the Fold’N'Stow that supports a book at variable angles on any flat surface, to the infinitely more elaborate LEVO Bookholder which secures a book or other reading material in either a floor stand design or a clamp-on model that easily clamps to any table, desk, or counter top. Many book stand models function well with hardcovers, but most also can work quite well with paperback books held by book holders like an OpenPage.
The Fold’N'Stow is one of the most affordable of book stands. It folds compactly and comes with it’s own convenient pouch punched for easy use in a three ring binder. It may be used on a countertop for cookbooks, or the top of any desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders swing from the back to hold your book open, and, by moving the arms either closer together or farther apart, smaller and larger books may be easily accommodated. The back of the stand has horizontal pieces that may be raised or lowered to vary the angle at which the book is held relative the substrate.
The most popular model of the LEVO book stand is the LEVO floor stand model, which includes a weighted base on casters for easy movement from bedside to treadmill to the couch, desk, table or counter top. Wherever you position it, the LEVO will position in just about any position. Incorporating a bookboard that can be adjusted into virtually any position, and coupled with a book mounting mechanism that will secure your book, even in an inverted position, the LEVO enables hands-free reading practically anywhere.
The LEVO Desk Clamp on design is just as handy as the LEVO Floor Model, but provides a clamp that firmly holds any table, desk, work bench, counter top or other flat surface up to two inches thick, and provides identical movements as the floor model, without the range of vertical telescoping movements. By supporting your book above the surface to which it is attached, the desk model saves the weight and expense of the weighted rolling base while still freeing up valuable work space, since your book doesn’t rest on the working surface.
Even though there are other book stand designs currently available, the Fold’N'Stow and LEVO book stands have stood the test of time and hold up well to heavy use.
